BBQ @ Staci's

A fun bbq with great friends...unfortunately my camera took in some water (I sat it next to the beverage cooler which had condensation)...so another camera bites the dust, lol...at least I was able to salvage the final pics.

Then and now...

They grow up so fast...they've only had two pics from the mall, with the Big Easter Bunny (others were done at school, separate)...so here's 2013 and 2006...and I remember the first one like it was yesterday...Both just got new shoes (which they are wearing in the pic), but it was special for Ash because she got her FIRST pair of 'walking' shoes...

Ashlee DAY!

After enduring 50 needles for NOTHING (and lot's of bruising to show for it), we deemed today ASHLEE DAY...after school, she chose what reward she wanted, and where she wanted to eat dinner....so, off to the mall for Build-a-Bear...she has been begging to go to that place for months...she hasn't been there since she was a tiny tot...so she doesn't even remember it...but she LOVED this place and the cute process you go thru in picking it out and stuffing it with love...she chose 2 outfits, and shoes.  Then off to dinner at food court (I was so hoping for Olive Garden or any place that sells WINE)...then a quick photo with the Easter Bunny...and home for showers.  This is one very happy girl!!!

meet Sparkles, her new best furry princess friend.

What a Prick...

Well, Ashlee went to the ENT on Monday and he said her ears, nose and throat looked 'perfect'...he agreed to see an allergist and get a chest x-ray if we could.

TODAY was the big day...45 mins before her 9am app, we prepped both arms with the numbing cream, wrapped them in saran wrap and headed to her appt.  There they did 30 'pricks' in both arms...she didn't feel a thing.  Then they did 20 under the skin injections into her upper arm...THAT she felt...but only 3 of them (out of 20, not bad!)

Then they did an asthma test...2 hours later...the results are IN...
No allergies at all...mild asthma (and we voted against the chest xray at this time).  With the combo of her RSV as a baby, and reflux, and how she improved on her air test AFTER she took a boost of the inhaler, it was determined it's asthma...So for 6 weeks she will do an inhaler twice a day...and go back to the allergist for a follow up to see if her coughing subsides.

So here I thought she would want to stay home from school after being poked and prodded, but nope, this girl is a trooper...off to school she went...and mommy went into work as well (not happy about that)...

Hot Buns

So you know that saying...things are not always what they seem...well, case in point!  My youngest daughter, who is 7, BEGGED me for those darn 'hot buns'...this hair gadget that puts your hair in a tight bun...she really, really, reallllllly wanted them...so, after she did some chores, she 'earned' it...I ordered them and day after day, she ran to the mailbox...3 dreadfully LONG weeks later, they finally came IN...ok, total waste of money unless you have super long hair...doesn't work so great for my kids hair...but, they were happy...

OK, so, when the box came, Ash opened it up...and was holding said 'buns' in her hand while I was doing dishes...I turn around to see what she has, and GASP... errrr, well...my gosh, let's just say, they didn't look like what I THOUGHT they would...lol...see pics below...(and you will understand why I "GASPED" when I saw my daughter holding them)...I wouldn't catorgorize them under "buns"....ahem....

She wanted me to take of pic of her holding them and send it to her daddy....needless to say, I just couldn't...he would have had a heart attack at first glance...

They came 4 in a pack...and she asked if she could bring one to school for her best friend...ummmm gonna say NO to bringing that to school...

SCROLL....

Crazy Train...let me off please....

Well it's been a heck of a month, esp the last few weeks...just one doc appt after another...

Most of you know, poor Jim caught the flu a couple weeks ago...the world stops when you are that sick...TG he is finally feeling better!!

Then in a prior post, I had written about how Ash had a cronic cough, took her to her doc and they said it was a sinus infection, and put her on Amoxicillan...it never worked...not even a little bit.  So the cough continues...and she has an appt with an ENT next Monday and I also scheduled an appt with an Allergist, just in case...I'm praying we don't need to see him because they will be doing a huge test on both of her arms...pricking/injecting her arms with different allergies to see if any get irritated...she will have to put on a prescribed numbing cream 45 mins prior to her appt that day...it's just something I'd rather NOT put my 7 yr old thru...hoping the ENT can figure it out first.

Then there is Haylee, who on Feb 14th started her orthodonist treatment...with what's called an expander (see pic below).  It's an appliance that sits at the roof of her mouth and we turn a key every day for 21 days to 'expand' her jaw/teeth.  So, 12 days into it, the darn thing is ready to fall OUT...really?!  So now she has to go back for an adjustment this Thursday...which means 4th time late for school!

And lastly...there is a slew of tests we need to do for Ashlee...they believe she has a form of A.D.D.  This could explain why she has been doing so poorly with reading and writing.  I had a hunch last year she could have this, but I just never followed up with it...then seeing how she is struggling this year and getting alot of reports from her teacher that she is not focused or attentive in class was a big signal...so, now the ball is rolling...seeing her peds doc first...and go from there...stay tuned!
